This year’s Topic Group (TG) Summit is now just days away. It will be online on two days – 29-30 October – from 14.00-17.00 CET and once again will be open to all. This year’s programme has been designed around specific themes which reflect many of the community’s current discussions.
On Day 1 (Wednesday 29 October) the Summit will consider “Resilience and supply chains”. Looking at the major challenges facing robotics and drawing on the “Robots for a Changing World” workshop held at ERF in Stuttgart. Summit participants will work together to examine the impact of these challenges on robotics with a focus on key questions. Addressing resilience, key questions will be:
- What are the primary areas where greater resilience is needed?
- How can these help build market and a European identity?
- How do we see robotics in the wider context of an ageing population, climate change and other realities.
The discussion on supply chains will address: the vulnerabilities in the European supply chain, how to raise awareness or find alternative supply sources, and ways to improve the supply chain, including certification or product “kite marks”, so that European suppliers reach full potential and markets are connected.
Day 2 (Thursday 30th October) will follow a similar format, this time with a focus on “modularity and interoperability” and with specific reference to ARIA’s report on this topic
