About
Description: Recognizes and celebrates exceptional achievements in the transfer of robotics technology from research environments into practical industrial applications. The award specifically highlights the essential role this technology transfer plays in maintaining Europe’s leading position in the global robotics landscape.
Established: 2004
Prize: Winners receive trophies, and finalists receive certificates. All finalists gain exposure and networking opportunities.
Eligibility: The technology transfer should have taken place in Europe and should have resulted in robotics products, applications or services. The scientific results have to originate from RTOs, universities, polytechnic universities, not from research conducted in-house in industry. Up to three representatives from all partners involved in a successful technology transfer may apply. The technology transfer should demonstrate early commercialization signs.
Basis for Judging: A distinguished jury of experts from industry and academia evaluate applications based on innovation and commercial impact. Factors considered include depth and breadth of technology transfer, early market success indicators, and potential for sustained competitive advantage. Shortlisted finalists are invited to present their projects at the European Robotics Forum (ERF). The jury selects the winners based on the written application, presentation, and Q&A.
Presentation: The award session is held annually at the European Robotics Forum (ERF), prizes are awarded during a special award ceremony at ERF.
