A strong euRobotics presence was in evidence in Stavanger last month at ADRA’s AI, Data and Robotics Forum. A prominent figure on the podium was Nabil Belbachir, Research Director at NORCE, Member of the euRobotics Board of Directors and local organising lead for ERF 2026 which will take place in Norway’s oil capital next March.  Details of the overall ADRF programme can be found at  https://adrforum.eu/ .

For euRobotics’ Secretary General Reinhard Lafrenz, ADRF in Stavanger offered an opportunity to renew contacts as always and to get a personal sense of the venue and host city for the next ERF.

From his general observations about the event he said: “It was encouraging to hear robotics coming back to the centre of so many discussions, and even slightly surprising how many times robotics was specifically mentioned.”

From a wide range of valuable presentations, we wondered what particularly caught Reinhard’s eye. The answer, it seems, was “a lot!” Among Reinhard’s personal highlights were the focus on resilience, particularly with regard to supply chains, a workshop on urban mining and a presentation from SPRINT with its insight into the changes of focus needed in order for technology development to maintain its acceleration. There was much else, too. If you’d like to know more, speak to Reinhard. Allow time and be ready to listen!
