Preparations continue for ERF 2027 and delegates will get used to seeing images of the bull, symbol of the host city, Birmingham. The version shown here stands on the concourse of the English city’s central railway station and is named Ozzy in tribute to Black Sabbath singer Ozzy Osbourne. As one of the identifying features of Birmingham it was a natural decision to incorporate an image of the bull into the ERF 2027 event logo.
Meanwhile, preparations for the Birmingham edition continue. The Office team took advantage of June’s MTC Robotics and Automation event in nearby Coventry (see separate story in this edition) to visit the venue and make further decisions about the event while on the spot in Birmingham.
The Call for workshops has been highly productive. Indeed the number of proposals almost trebled in the final days before the deadline, leaving the organisers with nearly 200 proposals to process. Secretary General Reinhard Lafrenz set to work clustering and spotting opportunities to combine similar proposals. The next stage is to assign the workshops. By the autumn the outline of the workshop programme will emerge – in its final form there will be 50-60 workshops, plus the Scientific Track – and we will share how the programme is shaping up via one of the next editions of the newsletter.
Much of the value of ERF each year – for visitors and exhibitors alike – comes from the exhibition. ERF also relies on the support of its sponsors, who draw a lot of benefit from being associated with Europe’s primary robotics event. The sponsorship and exhibitor prospectus is now available for organisations who would like to take advantage of the opportunities of being involved with ERF 2027.
After each ERF is over, the workshop reports and presentations provide continuing value.
