Congratulations to Eloise Matheson, Daniel Leidner and Karol Janik who were recently elected as chairs of TG Telerobotics and Telemanipulation (T&T). We’ll report on what the future holds for the TG T&T in a future edition.

Meanwhile Eldert van Henten has stepped down down as co-chair of the TG Agricultural Robotics.

In a farewell message he said: Times are changing, so is the role of euRobotics in the wider EU context of AI, Data and Robotics. There are many opportunities such as the initiative to connect the AgroRoboFood ecosystem to euRobotics and specifically our TG. I would say this is a very relevant next step in maturing the robotics network in our application domain, a step that I warmly support.” Eldert’s successor will be Erik Pekkeriet of Wageningen Research Greenhouse Horticulture, who takes up the role as co-chair alongside Slawomir Sander. Erik has been active in the agricultural robotics domain for some two decades and has a strong track record in marketing and coordination of large robotics projects and platforms. Final word to Eldert: “Supported by Kees Lokhorst and myself I expect Erik and Slawomir will be able to give this TG the new momentum it deserves. We made a strong team when drafting the robotics research agenda for our domain in past years.”

On behalf of everyone at euRobotics we wish Eloise, Daniel, Karol and Erik every success in their new roles and we thank Eldert for his valuable service.
