Detailed information
We support our participants in collecting material, in finding synergies for new ideas and projects and will facilitate meetings and collaborations through the mailing list, the website and through meetings in person, such as the series of workshops organised at the European Robotics Forum, addressing several topics concerning the present and future of marine robotics.
In 2021, we investigated the challenges and opportunities of using autonomous systems in the oceans, involving scientists and engineers both from academia and industry.
In 2022, we focused on AI, which is currently a technology undergoing a deep and fast development.
AI can provide several benefits in different aspects of underwater operations, such as from the perception and the decision-making standpoint.
In 2023, we focused on a more practical topic such as the use of marine robots in the energy sector, gathering researchers and engineers to discuss different use cases, specifically Oil&Gas, offshore windfarms and nuclear plants.
The number of participant has grown in the last 3 years, from 60 to 117 members.
We invite you to register to the Marine Robotcs TG to be part of the upcoming revolution in marine science and engineering!
