Dare with Pepper: Can you beat “Who’s Who”?

The game

The game is an adaptation of the classic game “Who’s Who?”, in which players compete against the robot Pepper to guess a person selected from among those present, asking “yes or no” questions about their appearance. Instead of a predefined set of characters on a board, the characters are chosen dynamically based on the people around the robot, and instead of alternating the turn of questions between players, the game is played in two stages:

1. – The player thinks of one of the people and must answer (without cheating) the questions that the robot asks him to guess who that person is.

2.- It is the robot who selects one of the people and the player who must guess by asking the robot the appropriate questions

RSAIT is a research group belonging to the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) that focuses on the development of social behaviors for robots. This application, in particular, has been developed by Juan Echevarría, a student of the degree in Artificial Intelligence offered by the Faculty of Computer Science of San Sebastián. The project has been developed in cooperation with the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria

Member of the Spanish Film Academy since 1997, he has written and directed a feature film, 8 shorts, and has shot more than a hundred advertisements for the best advertising agencies. With his films he has won numerous international awards, and has competed in prestigious festivals such as Berlin, Palm Springs or Cairo. He was nominated for GOYA, and a candidate a second time. Currently, he is a professor of advertising creativity at the IE Business School and of film scriptwriting at UNIR.

Family fun with our social robot Sanbot LOLA!

The game

Gather your family and come and play with our Sanbot LOLA robot!  Team up with your parents and grandparents (don’t leave them at home!) and take on other families by solving challenges with the help of LOLA. LOLA is part of the PLEISAR project. This project is about how to make robots companions for games and how a group experiences playing games with a robot.

You will be accompanied at all times by our team of researchers from the PLEISAR project that will explain everything you want to know about our project

Put a robot in your life: Educational and assistive robotics for everyone

Participants will be able to interact with JUNITO, a low-cost educational robot that can be easily programmed with a tool designed for primary and secondary school students. They will also be able to participate in our robotic TRIVIAL, where they will be able to make JUNITO run a race answering very fun and interesting questions from all areas of knowledge, and in our gesture-guided race, where JUNITO will be able to run a circuit while being teleoperated with gestures. Finally, they will be able to interact with a tool capable of recognising body movements and will demonstrate the effectiveness of techniques and Artificial Intelligence to create very useful applications in the educational and healthcare fields.

Have fun with a desktop construction robot

The new Education Robot System by OrangeApps is ideal for learning about 6-axis robots and learning how to manage them outside of an industrial environment. The miniature robot consists of 1,010 plastic system blocks, motors and sensors, and with adequate software it can be moved and programmed exactly like the real KUKA robots, such as a KR QUANTEC or a KR IONTEC. It looks like a toy, but it works like the real thing, just what students from schools and universities need to practice.
