ERW 2023 Event overview

Central Event 2023

THEME “Demistify robotics”

The European Robotics Week (ERW) was conceived at the European Robotics Forum (ERF) 2011 by the desire of the European Robotics community to bring robotics research and development closer to the public and to build the future Robotics Society.

In 2023 European Robotics Week took place from 18 till 24 November 2023 offering one week of various robotics related activities across Europe for the general public, highlighting the growing importance of robotics in a wide variety of application areas and the growing importance of skills in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).

The Central event of European Robotics Week took place from 21 till 24 November 2023 in Hannover, Germany. The local organizers and euRobotics have established a vibrant 4 day program.

euRobotics aisbl  is a Brussels based international non-profit association for all stakeholders in European robotics.

robospace® is a non-profit organization which aims on getting people excited about technology, robotics and computer science. They act as project sponsors for various educational projects.

Robotics City Hannover combines all robotics activities of the Hannover Region and its partners. Communicated for the first time at the TechTide conference in 2018, it now has nationwide appeal and bundles a wide variety of initiatives, offerings and networks in the multifaceted field of robotics.

Experience the Roberta Challenge 2023 (21st of November, 2023), a robot competition developed  and organized by pupils from the Roberta RegioZentrum. The competition is open for beginners starting from the 5th grade and their teachers and has its own category for girls, the Roberta Challenge Creative.

Each Team brings a working, driving robot on the day of the competition, to solve unkown tasks on a course. With annually changing course themes, the Roberta Challenge offers fun and learning about robotics and technology

The annual theme for 2023 is ‘sustainability’ based on the United Nations sustainability goals.

The Roberta RegioZentrum Hannover, certified by the Fraunhofer Institute for Intelligent Analysis and Information Systems IAIS, bundles the robotics activities of the Hanover region in the school sector. We are the point of contact for pupils, teachers and schools of all types of primary and secondary education and companies.

The aim of the Roberta Initiative is to promote the interest and motivation of young people for computer science, technology and natural sciences. Together with our partners, we promote the individual education and training of young people and provide them with comprehensive key competencies for the digital world of tomorrow through sustainable learning.

Through the close integration of all partners and the resulting synergies, we enable students to access joint, lifelong and sustainable learning.
