ERF2012 Event overview

“Towards new horizons”, the European Robotics Forum 2012, took place at Magasinet in Odense, from 5 to 7 March 2012. This 3-day event was focused on the latest news concerning research and business by giving attendees the opportunity to attend community organized workshops and conferences. The European Robotics Forum, was organized by the European robotics networks EURON, EUROP, the euRobotics Coordination Action and hosted by The Danish Technological Institute.

PROGRAM

Once again, the forum offers an exciting program with many workshops that present developments and trends within robotics. The workshops all have an interesting agenda and covers a wide range of topics from welfare to industry technology.

Evening events
During the European Robotics Forum 2012, we would like to welcome you to participate in two social evenings on the 5th and 6th March.

At the 5th March the evening event is hosted by the city of Odense and will take place at the city hall. The arrival time for the reception is between 7.30pm and 8.00pm. At 8.00pm the major of Odense, Anker Boye, will make a formal speech. The city hall of Odense will furthermore serve a light meal during the evening.

The 6th March there will be a formal dinner with award show starting at 7.30pm. This evening event will take place at a local music house called Posten in the center of Odense. The evening includes a buffet and two beverages of your choice.

ORGANISERS

The euRobotics Coordination Action targets two main objectives: the improvement of cooperation between industry and academia, and the enhancement of public perception of (European) robotics.
The euRobotics Coordination Action is funded by the European Commission within the 7th Framework Program, Challenge 2: Cognitive Systems, Interaction, Robotics. (FP7-ICT-244852; 01/2010-12/2012).

EUROP, the European Robotics Technology Platform, is an industry-driven framework for the main stakeholders in robotics to strengthen Europe’s competitiveness in robotic R&D, as well as global markets, and to improve quality of life.

EURON is a shorthand for European Robotics Research Network. It is the community of more than 200 academic and industrial groups in Europe with a common interest in doing advanced research and development to make better robots.

The members of EUnited Robotics are manufactures and system integrators creating a network of industry leaders in Europe. Furthermore, EUnited Robotics is a cooperation platform among all stakeholders – From research institutions to national associations and costumers.

Danish Technological Institute develop, apply and disseminate research- and technologically-based knowledge for the Danish and International business sectors.  As such we participate in development projects which are of use to society in close collaboration with leading research and educational institutions both in Denmark and abroad.

DTI Centre for Robot Technology is the birthplace for innovative robotics solutions of tomorrow. Denmark’s SME dominated manufacturing industry as well as professionalized health care and welfare sectors set the scene for ambitious industry and academia collaborations targeting advanced cognitive robotic solutions. DTI Centre for Robot Technology as a leading innovator plays a vital role in this strive for fruitful impact on Danish and European society.

DIRA works with developing Danish companies’ competitiveness on the international markets through the introduction of robot technology and related automation. Today, DIRA is the gathered forum for the subscription and promotion of knowledge and experience of robots and related automation both national and international.

As a member of CareNet you will be close to developers, suppliers, costumers, end user organizations and authorities with interest in welfare technology. You will influence the development in a field with great societal need for action and a large potential. The network gives the opportunity for a larger network and knowledge, to contribute to product and process innovation, better sparring, increased dissemination and publicity and to influence the development.
