METRICS consortium partners invite you to follow the upcoming campaigns.

This year, two METRICS competitions (HEART-MET and ADAPT) launched their field campaigns in conjunction with ICRA 2023, taking place at ExCeL London from May 29th to June 1st, 2023.

HEART-MET

The Healthcare Robotics Technologies – Metrified (HEART-MET) competition invites you to participate in the ICRA 2023 HEART-MET Physically Assistive Robot Challenge. In this challenge, an assistive robot is tasked with fetching an item for a person in a home. The person communicates to the robot the item they would like, and where it is located. The robot should navigate to the given location, find the item, grasp it, and bring it back to the person and safely hand it over to them. Interested teams should submit qualification material using this form (https://forms.gle/ituZDmintjRnRdhQ8). Qualified teams will be invited to register for the competition on the ICRA website.

A detailed description of the competition is available on the competition webpage. (https://metricsproject.eu/healthcare/assistive-robot-challenge-icra-2023/ )

ADAPT

The ADvanced Agile ProducTion (ADAPT) competition invites participants to join ICRA 2023 METRICS ADAPT Human-Robot Collaborative Assembly Challenge. The challenge aims at addressing typical dexterous robot manipulation tasks (e.g., picking of parts and precision placement, parts insertion) of parts involving intuitive, multi-modal interfaces and human communication channels (e.g., human demonstration by hand-guiding). Interested teams should submit qualification material using this form (https://forms.gle/ScgFhVYsBqCFq2bG6 ). Qualified teams will be invited to register for the competition from the ICRA website.

A detailed description of the competition be found on the competition’s webpage. (https://metricsproject.eu/agile-production/adapt-challenge-icra-2023/)

RAMI

The Robotics for Asset Maintenance and Inspection (RAMI) competition involves tasks related to autonomous navigation and data acquisition for I&M purposes. Since aerial and underwater domains are very different, both domains will be evaluated separately in two different tracks.

Evaluation campaigns for aerial robots in 2023 are held in two subsequent stages. First, the cascade evaluation campaign will run from January to April 2023, where teams will develop and test their algorithms on datasets provided by CATEC. Then, the teams with the best performances will be allowed to participate in the field evaluation campaign, which will take place at the ICUAS conference venue in June 2023 in Warsaw, Poland

Detailed information about the competition is available on the RAMI Aerial competition webpage. (https://metricsproject.eu/inspection-maintenance/aerial-campaigns-2023/)

The RAMI Field Campaign for Marine robots will be held at the NATO STO Centre for Maritime Research and Experimentation (CMRE) in La Spezia, Italy, on 16 ‒ 21 July 2023. The competition will challenge the Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs) of participant teams to accomplish Inspection & Maintenance tasks set in the CMRE protected seawater basin. AUVs will require perception, manipulation, adaptive mission planning and autonomous navigation skills to be successful.

Interested teams should send the required information to the organisers.  Information on the application procedure is available on RAMI’s Marine competition webpage. (https://metricsproject.eu/inspection-maintenance/rami-2nd-field-campaign-marine/)

ACRE

On February 23, 2023, Agri-food Competition for Robot Evaluation (ACRE) held a workshop that described the methodology and launched upcoming events of the ACRE competition. The recording of the workshop is available on the ACRE competition webpage. (https://metricsproject.eu/agri-food/4th-acre-workshop/ ).

The workshop launched both Cascade and Field Campaigns 2023. In the 2023 ACRE 2nd Cascade Campaign, participants will be asked to segment RGB images to distinguish between crops, weeds, and background. The Cascade campaign will take place in Spring 2023.

A detailed information campaign is available on the competition webpage. (https://metricsproject.eu/agri-food/2023-cascade-campaign/ )

Teams interested in joining the Field campaign, which will take place in May 2023 in Cornaredo, Italy, are invited to fill out the registration form. (https://forms.gle/bu2VVzgx5tAnMK4h9) More information will be provided soon.
