This year the annual Topic Group Summit will take place during the afternoons of the 29th and 30th of October between 14:00 CET and 17:00 CET
As usual the Topic Group Summit will be an online meeting open to all. The Summit is an excellent opportunity for members of Topic Groups to come together, discuss different areas of robotics and get updates from inside and outside the community. This year we have picked specific topics for each afternoon that reflect many of the ongoing discussions we are having in the community.
On Wednesday 29th October we will spend the afternoon examining and discussing “Resilience, and supply chains” Looking at the major challenges facing robotics and drawing on the “Robots for a Changing World” workshop held at ERF in Stuttgart we will work together to examine the impact of these challenges on robotics and better understand how the community thinks we should respond.
On Thursday 30th October we will unwrap topics around “modularity and interoperability” where there is much ongoing work being undertaken in specific areas. This presents an opportunity for euRobotics to discuss how it might coordinate or signpost this work that is critical to the development of strong supply chains. We will also examine a recent publication by ARIA, a UK funding agency, and its recommendations.
This year we will focus on group work between Topic Groups to understand what position the community takes on these important topics. This will feed into the next set of strategy documents from euRobotics.
