It’s almost MK Tech Week in the robot-friendly ‘smart’ city of Milton Keynes (UK) and euRobotics will be there. Among headline activities to mark the week, a smart city and robotics symposium (registration is free – just follow the link) will bring together a number of expert speakers including Radhika Gudipati from ARIA, the UK R&D funding agency, and Ian Pulford from the Smart City Consultancy. Mid-event, a day of STEM-related activities has been designed to pique the interest of school-age children. The week’s highest profile event will be the Smart City Robotics Competition on 23-25 September. The event builds on the legacy of the successful European Robotics League competition, powered by euRobotics, held in September 2023, and which drew significant media and public attention, as this month’s event is also likely to. These events will take place at centre:MK, the city’s main retail complex, and visitors arriving in Milton Keynes by train may be able to catch a lift on one of the robot shuttles being showcased during MK Tech Week before going into regular public service. Full information about the event, competition, team entries, partners and key contacts can be found at Smart City Robotics Competition 2025.
