The robot-friendly city of Milton Keynes (UK) is getting ready to host the Smart City Robotics Competition this year on 23-25 September. The event builds upon the legacy of the successful European Robotics League, powered by euRobotics, held in September 2023. As before, university teams from the UK and across Europe will tackle real-world challenges with innovative robotic solutions. In this way the competition provides a dynamic showcase of cutting-edge technology and talent.
The competition is led by Smart City Consultancy CEO Ian Pulford, who had this to say about it: “The Smart City Robotics Competition is back again in Milton Keynes to showcase the emerging talent in the area of robotics, in real world challenges by some of the top universities in the UK and across Europe. We have a community of leading tech industry with government and council supporting this exciting public event that shows the societal benefits of service robots, autonomous vehicles and drones.”
The Smart City Robotics Competition is supported by Milton Keynes City Council and will take place at centre:mk, a leading UK retail destination and is organised by Smart City Consultancy Ltd. The collaboration underscores Milton Keynes’ commitment to fostering technological advancement and its position as a hub for smart city initiatives. The competition will be a highlight of Tech Week and is expected to draw significant media and public attention as the 2023 event did.
