In just a few days’ time (17-18 June), leading UK research and technology organisation the Manufacturing & Technology Centre (MTC) will host its annual robotics and automation event. In keeping with its umbrella theme ‘Robotics and automation – powering your future’ the MTC event will explore three themes: the journey to automation, the future of work and ‘bridging the valley of death’ which will focus on how innovative technologies are addressing key industry challenges, from productivity and labour shortages to net zero and energy transition. This year’s gathering will include a keynote address from euRobotics president Bernd Liepert about the opportunities for UK to forge a bigger robotics market with Europe. Another headline speaker will be Greg Clark, a member of the UK’s Industrial Strategy Advisory Council who has served as a government minster and who chairs the Warwick Manufacturing Group. Several UK-based euRobotics members will also be present, while the association will be further represented by Secretary-General Reinhard Lafrenz and other members of the Office team who will take this opportunity to meet representatives of several UK associations.
