Following a healthy response to the call for workshop proposals, the ERF Programme Committee and the ERF Scientific Board have released a Call for Papers.

ERF 2024 in Rimini, Italy saw the successful introduction of an industrial scientific track, intended to strengthen ERF’s scientific component. Thanks to this success the scientific track has been retained and will remain a key feature of ERF for 2025.

The scientific track consists of peer-reviewed papers which will later be published in a Springer book. To foster the discussion between research and industry, the contributions of the scientific track will be presented in an “oral” or a “pitch and poster” format, depending on the content of the paper.

The papers may address a wide range of topics under two broad subject areas: robotics and AI for robotics. A full list of topics within the desired scope is given in the Call for Papers itself (see Subject Areas of the Scientific Track). Further details about the required format, review process and key dates can also be found in the Call document. The headline submission deadline is 12.00PM CET on 30 September 2024.

Prior to this latest Call for Papers, the Programme Committee had declared itself very satisfied with the response to the Call for Workshops, with almost 130 initial proposals received by the deadline. Work is now under way to group, structure and order the proposals so that when the ERF programme is drawn up, each workshop will have a distinct theme and all significant aspects of robotics are covered. In order to achieve this, euRobotics is in dialogue with individual workshop coordinators to enable them to refine their plans, identify possible overlaps and take opportunities where possible to combine proposed workshops on closely related topics. Meanwhile, the call is out for sponsors. ERF 2025 will take place in Stuttgart, Germany over three days from 25-27 March.
