Several months after the idea was first proposed, euRobotics is now actively planning to launch a series of webinars with ‘The Future of… with Robotics’ as an umbrella title. Secretary-general Reinhard Lafrenz explains: “The concept starts from the insight that robotics is a key component in the future of many sectors, from agriculture to healthcare, transport to hazardous environments. We want to bring together experts from the euRobotics community – our members, Topic Groups and other networks – and give anyone who’s interested in how these sectors are developing a chance to listen to some interesting discussions about the role that robotics will play in their future.
“We already have our large events – ERF and ERW. These are high-quality and very popular but they require a lot of time and resource to plan and deliver. So we wanted to introduce a new event format that’s easy to resource and easy to access, too, and that’s why we want to deliver these online. We’re currently working on our pilot event ‘The Future of Space with Robotics’, which is also a personal interest of mine. Once we’ve confirmed our format and our presenters we’ll announce the date, which we expect to be some time in the autumn this year.”
